A clamping and screwing device of this type is known, for example, from U.S. Pat. No. 5,097,545. This clamping and screwing device is composed of a cylindrical main drive shaft which serves to drive the barrel. The main drive shaft is supported on the backing plate through balls and a locking mechanism. Clamping elements, such as tubes or springs, are arranged on a support plate. They are mounted onto the main drive shaft and can be pressed into a clamping groove of the barrel by means of the main drive shaft. The clamping and screwing device is intended to transfer forces from the main drive shaft, through the clamping elements, to the barrel. In particular, the transfer of forces takes place along a first, vertical force transfer line between the clamping elements arranged on the support plate and the clamping groove, and along a second, horizontal force transfer line between the support plate and the barrel.
This clamping and screwing device has the disadvantage that the force and the position of the clamping elements can be adjusted only from the front side or the rear side, that is, they cannot be adjusted from both sides.
Furthermore, when the screwing device is to be used in a motor vehicle, in particular in the lift platform of a fork lift truck, the support plate is exposed to heavy vibrations, in particular if the lift platform is lifted. This can lead to premature failure of the components and a shortened service life. Furthermore, on vehicles such as fork lift trucks, the clamping elements can only be adjusted by machine tools.
The object of the present invention is to produce a clamping and screwing device, which in particular consists of few components and thus is easy to manufacture and install.
This object is achieved by a clamping and screwing device according to the preamble of claim 1.
